The homeland of the Inuit stretches from the North Eastern tip of Russia across Alaska and Northern Canada to parts of Greenland Though the Chukchi and the Malhumets were separated by miles of the Bering Straits, it is amazing how both Tribes and there dogs evolved with much in common, the dogs, their lifestyle, their culture, their spiritual beliefs, all mirrored and reflected each other . Far beyond recorded history the Inuits oldest ancestors have raised wolf pups, crossbred those and purposely evolved dogs to act as guardians & protectors , herders, hunters, and haulers . Something else the Inuit shared in common was the same northern skies. What must they have thought as they and their dogs lay under the same star studded skies and watched the lights of the gods dancing above their heads, they must have been mystified and filled with awe as they bathed and soaked up such magical energies. The Northern Lights is the name given to this celestial Phenomenon it is the greatest light show on Earth , it has been around since the beginning of time since the earth was formed , the dinosaur saw it, the cavemen saw it, our ancestors saw it, and our descendants will see it too . Its scientific name is Aurora Borealis which In latin translates into red dawn of the north, and was named by the philosopher astronomer and mathematician Galileo Galilei ( 1564-1642 ) though not the first to experience the lights, he was the first to name them . The magic of such skies must have helped the Inuit and their dogs unit into a physical mental and spiritual union , as they absorbed such mystical energies , once you see the Northern Lights and the unspoiled beauty of the Tundra that lies beneath them ,huge forests amazing animals breathtaking landscapes mountains , glaciers volcanoes and its people, you will have no problem understanding why my beloved breeds are so beautiful and mystifying for they couldn't be anything else, as they are simply a mirror image a reflection of the mighty Mother & Father, whose work can be seen at its very best under those Northern Skies .
