Gixser came to us after the farm he lived on contacted us and asked us if we could take him as the farmer whose land adjoined with theirs had issued a warning to shoot and kill Gixser if he was seen in his fields again, especially as Gixser was not just worrying his sheep, but actually hunting them down and had actually caused injury to a few of them .
Sadly Gixser didn't know this was wrong, he had simply been allowed to wonder around freely and amuse himself from morning to night, and this is what he was doing to keep himself occupied
When we first arrived to pick Gix up I felt quite intimidated by his size and his sheer power, and wondered what the heck I was letting myself in for .
After getting Gix home I realized more so just how big he really was and the house some how seemed small with his presence in it , he had a bad case of selective deafness and humping everyone he came into contact with, which was quite frightening to say the least, but it also become apparent he had no in home training or manners, and on top of that no knowledge of basic commands, he didn't walk well on lead, and simply hated other dogs with a passion .
Long story short, we re educated Gixser in all area's and he had turned out to be a big teddy bear, as soon as we advertised him for rehome, we were inundated with emails and calls, but we had to find the right home for our big boy ( who still had a few issues, especially with other dogs and pulling ) so we made a short list of potential owners and eventually we had an email from Sean , the only words that sprang to mind when I read the email was, too good to be true .
One of the only things that concerned me with Sean & his lovely wife Lisa, was the fact that they had small children and I wasn't really sure how Gixser would be, and given his size it was a major worry factor for me and Sean & Lisa , but we took Gixser over to meet Sean and his gang, and the rest as they is history .
A BIG BIG thank you Sean Lisa & the
Gang
